You can provide access to the Diary for individuals who are not registered on Multi Me through a secure URL and password sent via email. These users are referred to as 'Email Access Users' on Multi Me.
The Email Access User simply clicks the link, enters the password, and gains access to the Diary. They will be able to view the Diary and contribute to specific Diary Logs they’ve been granted access to. This secure access works on any device with an internet connection via a web browser.
As the Diary Admin or User's Buddy, follow these steps to invite someone:
1. Navigate to the Diary you want to share then click on 'Manage Access' to begin the process.
2. In the Manage Access area click on the 'Invite by Email' option
3. In the pop up add the details of the email access user. If you want the link to be ongoing select 'never' in the expiry selection. Click 'Send Invitation' and email with a link and a password will be sent to the Email Access User.
4. The Email Access User will now appear in the Manage Access table. Click the pencil icon next to their name to define the access permissions you want to grant. Note: If you don't set their access, they will not be able to view or interact with the Diary!
5. Clicking the pencil icon will expand the sections of the Diary under the user in the table. You can then assign access by simply clicking the eye icon for read-only (view) access, or the pencil icon for read and write access to specific sections of the Diary. Note: Email Access Users cannot be given write access to the Diary Blog. To enable write access, you will need to invite the user to register and join the Circle.
Additionally, you can click the notification and alert icons to send the user reminders to update the Diary and receive email notifications for new entries.
Note: If a link has expired, you can extend or modify the expiry date by clicking on the 'Valid until' link under the user’s email. Additionally, you can copy their unique access link (URL) and password for future reference.
