About My Circle Buddy Functions

A Buddy is someone trusted to help a Supported User manage their Multi Me account, Circle and information.

Buddies may be family members, carers, support workers or other trusted people.

What Can a Buddy Do?

A Buddy can:

• Manage Circle members – invite people, accept or remove connections.

• Invite new people – by email or through Multi Me.

• Manage Buddy access – give or remove Buddy status for trusted Circle members.

• Organise Circle members – into categories such as Family, Friends, Professionals and Other.

• Add descriptions of relationships – such as Parent, Teacher, Support Worker or Key Worker.

• Manage access to information – help control who can see or contribute to a Supported User's Wiki, Diary, Goals and Media.

• Support sharing and communication – help the Supported User connect with people in their Circle.

Buddy Access and Role-Based Access

Multi Me also uses Role-Based Access (RBA) to manage permissions for staff and other users within an organisation.

• Buddy access gives a trusted person wider permissions to help manage a Supported User's account and information.

• Role-Based Access gives people specific permissions, such as viewing, editing or managing particular areas of Multi Me.

• Circle membership allows people to connect and share, but does not automatically give them access to everything.

Keeping the Supported User in Control

Buddies should involve the Supported User in decisions about who joins their Circle and who can access their information wherever possible.

The aim is to help the person build and maintain their own trusted support network while keeping their information safe and private.
